I was born in 1990 and grew up in Nagano.I create works using rust as a composition material.
The natural quality of rust makes my creations come alive, although today of course, it is possible to create works of art using paper or computers. I was attracted by the way in which rust forms day by day, independent of human beings. I cherish the time spent fashioning the iron and later adding salt water to create rust.
My work is processed to prevent the occurrence of rust and maintain the original condition, but there is still a possibility that some natural degradation will occur. I hope that art lovers will understand the natural process of this phenomenon and enjoy the pieces, but please contact the artist if any such changes affect enjoyment of the work.
